Many of our businesses are expanding their international presence and increasing export sales by use of direct sales persons, exclusive distributorships, and manufacturers' representatives.

In August of 1983, Alco Standard, our former parent company, announced that it would divest its industrial products manufacturing companies as part of its plan to focus its efforts toward product distribution and away from product manufacturing. In order to accomplish this transaction and to provide for the continuity of management, employee experience, and knowledge, the managers of the Alco Standard Manufacturing Group developed and executed a plan to buy these companies and form a new corporation, Alco Industries, Inc.

Alco Industries, Inc. now consists of eight diversified manufacturing companies which have earned positions of leadership within their respective industries and operate these businesses in eleven manufacturing facilities.

In March of 1998, Alco Industries became 100% employee-owned by its Employee Stock Ownership Trust as a result of the Trust's final purchase of shares from the original management group.
